What to know about new trash services in Lakeland

Effective April 1^st, Team Waste becomes the new trash service provider in Lakeland, replacing Republic Services.

To accomplish the goal of switching from one company to another, there is a procedure to collect current carts and replace them with new ones, according to Rhonda Fink, community services representative for Lakeland.

• New carts are referenced as “City of Lakeland carts” because they are branded with the City name and logo. The current carts to be collected may say “Republic, Allied, All Star, Barker Brothers or Advance Disposal.”
• The new waste provider is “Team Waste.”
• City of Lakeland carts will be delivered March 18^th through March 30^th.
• The City of Lakeland carts are to be used beginning April 1st. Republic will not pick up City of Lakeland carts.
• Republic will pick-up trash and recycle through March 29th.
• Beginning Monday, March 25th Republic will pick-up for the last week. Please leave ALL current carts at the curb for pick-up. “B” week recycle on March 22nd, please leave your recycle cart at the curb for pick-up.
• City of Lakeland carts will have the flyer, below, attached to the cart along with more documents. Please make sure you read the flyer and map.
