One of Lakeland’s most anticipated community traditions is returning this fall. International Family Night will be held on Monday, September 30, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Lakeland Preparatory School, bringing together students, families, and residents to celebrate the diverse cultures that make up the community.

Hosted in both the school courtyard and high school cafeteria, the event will feature country-themed tables showcasing traditional foods, clothing, artifacts, and more. Attendees can experience a wide range of flavors, sights, and performances, offering a true taste of global culture right in Lakeland.

Community members are encouraged to participate by hosting a country table, representing their native country, a place of heritage, or a nation they admire. Participants are welcome to prepare traditional dishes, display cultural artifacts, and wear traditional attire.

The sign-up deadline to host a table is September 15 at bit.ly/LSSIFN2025. Once registered, participants will receive full details to help them prepare their display.

Event organizers are also seeking performance groups to share music, dance, or other cultural presentations. Those interested or with questions may contact agarland@lakelandk12.org or smitchell@lakelandk12.org.

International Family Night has become a hallmark of Lakeland Prep’s school year, fostering community connections while celebrating the rich cultural diversity of its students and families.
