Lakeland Preparatory School (LPS) was recently honored with the prestigious Arts Rich School of Merit Award at the annual Bravo Banquet and Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Tennessee Arts Academy (TAA) at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU).
LPS Principal Corrie Martin and D.J. Paganoni, Lakeland School System’s Communications Manager, attended the ceremony to accept the award on behalf of Lakeland Prep.
“This award could not have been possible without the ongoing passion and dedication of our high school fine arts teachers and students,” said Paganoni. “They are the true stars that make our fine arts programs stand out and shine!”
In addition to the award, Lakeland educators Timothy Wise (Lakeland Preparatory School) and Karyne Cross (Lakeland Elementary School) participated in the Tennessee Arts Academy Summer Institute, held July 13–18 at MTSU. The week-long program brought together over 300 fine arts educators from across the state to receive advanced training in arts instruction, creative teaching methodologies, and arts education philosophy—skills and insights they now bring back to enrich Lakeland classrooms.
