Lakeland residents will have the opportunity to celebrate Independence Day by hearing local leaders join voices with participants from across the Mid-South during a special regional reading of the Declaration of Independence.
The broadcast will air Friday, July 4, at 10:00 a.m. on 91.1 WKNO-FM as part of the nation’s ongoing 250th anniversary commemoration. The event brings together community leaders, educators, and volunteers from throughout the region to read the historic document that marked America’s founding and continues to symbolize the nation’s commitment to liberty and self-government.
Representing Lakeland in this year’s reading will be Mayor Josh Roman and Lakeland School System Superintendent Ted Horrell. Their participation highlights the city’s role in a regional celebration honoring the principles and history of the United States.
