CSC delivers menu items to Lakeland

Car pickup for CSC Wednesday

It was an evening of chicken, egg and pimento cheese salads in Lakeland last night (4.1.20) as Chicken Salad Chick (CSC) came to town to deliver pre-ordered items from their menu.

Set up at Corner Shops of Lakeland for order distribution, the franchise restaurant had already done smaller deliveries in Arlington (35) and Bartlett (50) and asked Lakeland about coming.  “I called Lakeland and said we’d love to come to your community,” said Jenny Crews, manager of the CSC location in East Memphis.  “I talked to Shane Horn (city manager).  He was phenomenal.”

And reviews from customers as they came by car for order pickup were positive.  “I’m so glad you guys did this,” said one customer.  “We are excited you are here,” said another.

Among CSC staff on hand for deliveries was Fayaz Abdul, district manager who lives in Lakeland. Asked if CSC is considering a location in Lakeland, he said he would love to have one in Lakeland. Right now they are working on a property on U. S. Highway 64 between Germantown Parkway and I-40 for a location to open the third quarter this year.

Lakeland Commissioner Michele Dial spearheaded the eatery bringing orders to Lakeland, saying it was a way to have something different during difficult times.  Details were cleared through other members of the Lakeland Board of Commissioners as well as city staff.

“I am in the process of contacting restaurant managers and putting together an April calendar for Lakelanders to use in supporting our eateries,” said Commissioner Dial.   “Some will be just drop by and order and others will be order in advance for pickup. I’m hoping to have a couple of surprise visitors from outside our city scheduled as well!”
