The City of Lakeland is gearing up for another season of youth sports with the launch of its Spring/Summer Baseball program, offering opportunities for young athletes to learn the game or further develop their skills. This year’s program features five divisions: 4U developmental T-Ball, 6U T-Ball, 8U coach pitch, 10U kid-pitch, and 12U kid-pitch.
Practices and training sessions will take place across several Lakeland facilities, including the Lakeland Athletic Complex, the new t-ball field at City Hall Park (pictured), and Buckhead Creek Recreational Complex. Game locations will vary by age group, with the 6U T-Ball, 8U coach pitch, 10U kid-pitch, and 12U kid-pitch divisions competing at Deermont Park in Bartlett as part of the Bartlett Parks and Recreation Leagues.
City officials emphasized that updated age-division details are available online for parents seeking specific placement information.
Program organizers also highlighted the essential role of community involvement. Because the league relies heavily on volunteer coaches, registration numbers are directly tied to the availability of adults willing to step into coaching roles. Those interested in coaching may sign up through the “coaching opportunities” section, and the city notes that children of volunteer coaches receive discounted registration fees.
