Memphis Court extends suspension for in-court appearances for tickets, notices

The Supreme Court for the State of Tennessee has extended its suspension of in-court appearances through May 30th, according to Tarik B. Sugarmon, administrative judge for the City Of Memphis Municipal Court.

Persons who have received tickets and notices to appear in the Memphis court during the month of May should not appear in court on the date designated.

The Memphis City Court judges direct those persons to contact the City Clerk’s office at 636-3400, 636-3450 or 636- 3499.  Tickets may be considered for possible dismissal or resolution by fine to avoid coming to court or rescheduling for a trial date to avoid multiple appearances.

Persons who received tickets and notices for June and July should contact the Clerk’s office after May 15th to attempt to handle their tickets and avoid a court appearance.

Do not appear for City Court until you contact the Clerk’s office or receive further notice from the court.
