The third annual International Family Night is Feb. 25th at the LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School) Cafetorium.
The multicultural fair is sponsored by the Lakeland School System (LSS), allowing teachers, parents and students to unite in building the Lakeland community.

- Experience cultural performances from Lakeland and community groups
Hosting the evening are LSS ESL (English as a Second Language) teachers: Alison Garland and Stacy McGoldrick from LMPS; Lee Ann Kelly and Diann Sorensen from LES. Mrs. Garland said, “The LMPS international Club with about 35 5th-8th graders will also help with the event.”
Mrs. Garland said there are 22 countries represented for this year’s event: Mexico, Brazil, Italy, Venezuela, Poland, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Scotland, Germany, France, Netherlands, Canada, Puerto Rico, Philippines, Austria, USA Turtle Island, Palestine, Norway, Russia, Uzbekistan and Ukraine
“Tables will be hosted by students and families from both schools. Entertainment will consist of the LES (Lakeland Elementary School) Glee Club and Guitar Club and LMPS Jazz Band and Orchestra. We will also have some other groups performing cultural dances and songs.”
As in previous years, admission is free but attendees are asked to support the Memphis Food Bank and bring a can of fruit, meat or vegetable as a donation for entry, said Mrs. Garland.
