Two LES parents given PTA Lifetime Achievement Awards

During the April General Assembly meeting Thursday (4.19.18), Geoff Hicks and Monica Pitt were announced as the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Awards by the LES (Lakeland Elementary School) PTA.

Alexa Tutor, PTA vice president of publicity, said both were chosen this year for their many years of service to the PTA and the School.

“Mr. Hicks has been instrumental in the WatchDog Dad program for several years and a fixture at the school, even commenting at the meeting as he received his award that many children have asked if he worked at the school,” said Mrs. Tutor.

“Mrs. Pitts has been on the PTA Board of Managers for several years and has put in hundreds of hours helping organize and plan many events and programs, including the Boosterthon Fundraiser this past fall and the Spring Auction a few weeks ago.”

Mrs. Pitts was unable to attend the meeting to accept her award in person.

From the National PTA website:  “The Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest honor in the nation’s largest child advocacy organization, given to the people who daily live out their commitment to children, who act as tireless advocates for children’s education, health and well-being.”

The Lakeland Elementary PTA is proud to recognize these two individuals who have done so much for our children and school, added Mrs. Tutor.
