Support The Lions Baseball Team As They Head To State

For the first time in program history, Lakeland Baseball has earned a spot in the TSSAA State Tournament, marking a major milestone for the team, the school, and the entire Lakeland community. Prep defeated Milan High School to advance to play in the state championships.

This exciting achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and resilience of the team’s 18 players and 3 coaches, who have overcome the odds to make it to the state’s biggest stage, playing with only sophmores and juniors this year. The tournament will take place in Murfreesboro, TN, where Lakeland will proudly represent their city against the top programs in the state.

As the team gears up for this unforgettable journey, Head Coach Chris Godwin said they are turning to the local business community and residents for support. Donations are currently being sought to help cover vital travel expenses, including hotel accommodations, charter bus transportation, team meals, and other essentials that will ensure the players and coaches have everything they need for the trip.

“This opportunity goes far beyond the baseball field,” said Coach Godwin. “It’s about giving our student-athletes a once-in-a-lifetime experience — one that builds pride, unity, and memories that will last forever.”

Community members and businesses are encouraged to contribute whatever they can, as every donation — large or small — will directly impact the team’s ability to fully participate in this historic event.

Those interested in donating or learning more are invited to reply to the team’s outreach email or contact the program directly with the information on the below graphic.
