Stonebridge Golf Club has a new owner and a new name.

Mark Lovell, Stonebridge’s owner since 2013, has sold the golf course to a Nashville area business group.

Along with the purchase of the course, the group is rebranding the course to Lakeland Golf Club. The course has been known as Stonebridge since its opening in 1973.

General Manager Bob McNair told Lakeland Currents they have been operating as Lakeland Golf Club since December 4, 2021. He also said the new owners wanted the course to reflect the name of the area where it’s located. Mr. McNair said new signage at the entrance on Davies Plantation Road is expected sometime this winter.

Area golfers can expect changes and additions according to Mr. McNair. “We want you to have a country club experience at a public golf course,” he said. He added the new owners have a lot of dreams for the course and more news about changes can be expected very soon.
