Seniors make patriotic wreaths as LSC reopens

The Lakeland Senior Center (LSC) opened its doors to participants last week on a limited basis starting with a crafts class June 12th to make patriotic wreaths.

Kim Odom, LSC manager, said, “Seniors enjoyed coming together in a patriotic way today as they made Fourth of July wreaths during the Center’s monthly Craft Corner. The wreath-making class was instructed by Karen Parsley. Seniors has so much fun reuniting that wearing masks and social distancing never fazed them.”  The class was moved to the IH Clubhouse to accommodate social distancing, said Mrs. Odom.

The Center has been closed since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are all just so happy to get out of the house and do something fun,” said Jamae James, class participant.
