Pleasant fall day for Lakeland politicking

It was a delightful, sunny and warm autumn day (10.27.18) as supporters of Lakeland candidates campaigned in the vicinity of the Lakeland early voting location at The Refuge Church, 9817 Huff N Puff Rd.

Representatives held signs and waved to passers-by, encouraging folks to vote on the last Saturday of early vote season. There was even a dinosaur and Miss Liberty statue waving to potential voters.

The state and federal general and municipal election Nov. 6 includes six open positions in Lakeland.

Voters will select a mayor, two commissioners and three school board members this election cycle.

Thursday (11.1.18) is the last day to early vote at a myriad of early vote locations including The Refuge Church. During early vote, any location in Shelby County can be utilized. But on the actual Election Day, voters must go to their own precincts.  There are four which serve Lakeland.
