Lakeland Elections 2018

Early voting starts in less than two weeks to elect a Mayor, two commissioners and three members of the Lakeland School Board.

Election day is November 6 and early voting starts October 17.

As is customary, Lakeland Currents asked four questions of all candidates via an August email. Each was given 500 words total to answer the four questions. Candidates were also given 400 words to share information about themselves.

Clark Plunk, seeking reelection for Lakeland commissioner, declined to share his information with Lakeland Currents.

Lakeland Currents offered a new feature for this election; candidate videos. Each candidate was offered the opportunity to be videoed by Lakeland Currents, answering the four questions in 3 to 5 minutes.

Four of the candidates, Zachery Coleman, Mike Cunningham, Richard Gonzales and Michael Green chose not to participate in the videos.

Lakeland early voting will be held at The Refuge Church, however, early voting can be done at any location. Election day voting will be at your normal voting location, typically St. Paul church and First Baptist Church.
