Parks And Recreation Board Looking For New Members

If you’re interested in helping the City of Lakeland, the city is interested in speaking with you. According to Pat O’Mara, Director of Parks and Recreation for Lakeland, new members are currently being sought for the parks and recreation and natural resources advisory board. The volunteer board works to help advise the city on a variety of things, from the growing recreational sports programs in the city to events such as the LAMP concerts held at IH Clubhouse.

According to Mr. O’Mara there is currently one opening on the board, and there will be three more terms ending on January 1, 2022.

Chad Reynolds is sworn into the Parks and Rec Advisory Board by Commissioner Michele Dial. File photo.

Vice Mayor Michelle Dial, who is the BOC liaison to the parks and recreation board, says this is a great opportunity to have a voice in advising the city and that anyone with a passion for sports and our natural resources should apply. “In the past couple of years, our parks board has had so many successes and completed projects. There is so much more we can do, “ Ms. Dial said. She added, “please volunteer your time and ideas by joining us!”

If you would like to apply to serve in this position, please visit this application and send it or any questions to the Parks and Recreation Director, Pat O’Mara at pomara@lakelandtn.org.
