Once a Lion, Always a Lion this morning when former LES (Lakeland Elementary School) students walked the hallways of their alma mater as 2019 high school graduates.
They are alums of a variety of Memphis area schools but all have in common their early years as LES Lions.
The 47 students gathered in the lobby of the school dressed in their caps and gowns or high school emblem attire to walk the halls of the K-4 school in the first ever LES Graduate Walk and start a new tradition. They greeted the young LES students as they went down the hallways.
It was the idea of Terri Hoffman, LES kindergarten teacher and mom of an AHS (Arlington High School) 2019 graduate. “I wanted the kids to finish where they started,” she said.
Students today were graduates of AHS, Evangelical Christian School, Briarcrest Christian School, St. Benedict at Auburndale High School and Christian Brothers High School.
