Lakeland’s long-standing yard sale tradition returns this spring on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Since 2014, the community-wide event has been held twice a year—once in the spring and again in the fall—occasionally attracting as many as 200 participating homes.
Over the years, residents have helped determine the sale date through online voting. While the event was once scheduled via SurveyMonkey, recent years have seen a shift to Facebook polls, which has proven to be an effective approach. As in previous sales, participants will have the opportunity to submit their addresses on Facebook to be included in the official list of sellers.
Although the weather forecast remains uncertain this far in advance, April generally offers ideal conditions for yard sales. However, there is no rain check date—the sale will proceed as scheduled, rain or shine.
Sellers are responsible for placing their own signage and ensuring it is removed by the following Monday. While some participants may begin selling as early as Friday morning, most activity will take place on Saturday morning, with the busiest shopping hours occurring before 10 a.m. Many sellers wrap up by 2 p.m.
To help buyers navigate the sales, all participating addresses will be listed on the Yard Sale Treasure Map and shared across social media.
