Two gigantic signs were planted on The Lake District (TLD) property Friday (8.23.19), proclaiming Phase 1 of the mixed-use community will open for Thanksgiving 2020.
The billboards display the latest rendering of Phase 1 of the 160+ acre development at I-40 and Canada Road in Lakeland. The completed project will include five districts of inline retail, main street, hotels, office and residential. 
Also delivered that day were seven of 14 manholes to begin the infrastructure work.
TLD Phase 1 consists of 40-acres of commercial development in the northwest quadrant of the Lake District Planned Development. It will be subdivided into 16 lots which are comprised of 14 commercial outparcels, a large center development area and an additional defined parcel. Work associated with the Phase 1 Development Contract includes mass grading the site, constructing public connector roads, installation of sanitary and storm sewer facilities and all utilities associated with the lots.
