LSC open on limited basis, special art studio starts next week

Abstract Art Studio classes are starting at the Lakeland Senior Center (LSC) Monday (6.15.20) with pre-registration required. The classes are limited to eight participants, according to Kim Odom, LSC manager, and are sponsored by Creative Aging. The classes will meet four Mondays until July 6th from 10 – 11:30 a.m.

The in-person classes at the IH Clubhouse will explore different modern abstract movements and artists who operated in each.  Participants will be able to create four small canvas paintings. Originally the classes were to be conducted on the virtual format Zoom.

The Center was closed over two months because of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Now Mrs. Odom has provided June and July calendars with events beyond the Abstract Art Studio. Tech Tuesdays have been added in June along with craft activities.  In July there will be a Pottery Studio and Creative Movement Studio.
