LPS Middle School Theater Company To Perform Schoolhouse Rock Live!

By Yvonne Ward

‘CONJUNCTION JUNCTION …WHAT’S YOUR FUNCTION’? Lakeland Preparatory TO ADDRESS THESE GRAMMATICAL QUESTIONS AND MORE IN PRODUCTION OF ‘SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! JR.’ BEGINNING January 26th

Lakeland Preparatory will hit the books when students from LPS Middle School Theater Company will teach history, grammar, and math through clever and tuneful songs in their production of Schoolhouse Rock Live! JR.

Middle School students from grades 5th and 6th are bringing that same spirit of fellowship, excitement and curiosity that many may remember from the original School House Rock to their stage production and are exploring school subjects in a whole new way.

Based on the popular television show, Schoolhouse Rock Live! is a fun and educational show that teaches students and audiences of all ages that learning is fun. Ms. Wood, a school teacher nervous about her first day of teaching, tries to relax by watching TV. Suddenly, the Schoolhouse Rock kids appear in her living room and proceed to show her how to win her students over with imagination and music.  The beloved Schoolhouse Rock songs include “A Noun Is a Person, Place, or Thing,” “Three Is a Magic Number,” and “Unpack Your Adjectives.”

LPS Middle School Theater Company will present Schoolhouse Rock Live! JR. on Jan 26th at 6:30pm, and Jan 27th and 28th at 2pm. Show will be held in the Middle School Cafeteria at Lakeland Preparatory. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. Tickets can be purchased online at lpstheatercompany.org/tickets or at the door.  Show is Directed by Taylor Newby-Kahre and Yvonne Ward.
