Stewart Road at Old Brunswick Road has been barricaded by the City of Lakeland with rising water.
Dale Lane, director of the Shelby County Office of Preparedness, said this is the first street to be closed today in Shelby County because of rising waters from the continued rains.
The National Weather Service has issued river flood advisories in the Mid-South. Rain is forecast to continue tonight and into Thursday with one to two inches expected.
