Lakeland Prep is proud to recognize Avery Brown, an 8th grader, as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Despite her age, Avery has already made her mark on the high school varsity soccer team, proving to be a key contributor on the field.
This season, Avery has tallied seven goals and two assists, with an impressive showing last week alone. In three games, she scored four goals and added two assists, highlighted by a standout performance against Haywood, where she recorded a hat trick (three goals in a single game).
Head Coach Jay Fausey praised her impact, noting not only her stats but also her leadership. Avery has already been named one of the team captains—an exceptional honor for an 8th grader.
“Avery brings heart, determination, and a high level of skill to the team,” said Coach Fausey. “We are excited to have her playing with us and can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.”
With her talent, drive, and leadership, Avery Brown is setting the tone for both the present and the future of Lakeland Prep soccer.
