Lakeland Parks and Recreation Board Announces 2025 Event Lineup, Including LAMP Concert Series

The Lakeland Parks and Recreation Board (PRB) convened last week for its annual meeting, where members reviewed upcoming initiatives, held officer nominations, and finalized the 2025 special events calendar, including the highly anticipated LAMP Concert Series.

During the meeting, the board re-elected Mark Donley as Chair and Jessica Cannon as Secretary, while Amber Sawyer was appointed as the new Vice Chair. Parks and Recreation staff also provided updates on department projects, including plans for a pickleball initiative set to enhance community recreation options.

A highlight of the meeting was the official announcement of the 2025 LAMP Concert Series dates. The popular summer concert series will feature performances at IH Managerial Park on the following dates:

  • Saturday, June 28, 2025 (6:30 PM – 9:30 PM)
  • Friday, July 25, 2025 (6:30 PM – 9:30 PM)
  • Saturday, August 23, 2025 (6:30 PM – 9:30 PM)
  • Saturday, September 27, 2025 (6:30 PM – 9:30 PM)
  • Saturday, October 25, 2025 – as part of the Harvest Festival (3:00 PM – 9:30 PM)

In addition to the LAMP Concert Series, the board approved an extensive lineup of community events for the year, including:

  • Arbor Day Tree Giveaway – March 15
  • Team Trivia Night – March 24
  • Easter Hop & Shop – April 6
  • Fishing Rodeo – May 3
  • Summer Party – May 31
  • Family Health + Fitness Day – June 21
  • Back to School Celebration – August 2
  • Christmas in Lakeland Parade, Tree Lighting, and Pictures with Santa – November 29

All events will be hosted at IH Managerial Park at 4523 Canada Road.

With a mix of live music, family-friendly festivals, and seasonal celebrations, the Lakeland Parks and Recreation Board aims to foster community engagement and provide entertainment for residents of all ages. The board has also notified the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) and First Baptist Church Lakeland to coordinate logistical support for the events.
