In the early morning hours of October 11, firefighters battled a blazing housefire on Kingsridge, just south of I-40 off Canada Rd. Despite their efforts, the home was deemed a loss.
Brent Perkins, Public Information Officer for the Shelby County Fire Department, told Lakeland Currents that the fire is under investigation and there is no determination of cause. He did confirm that there were no injuries.
As usual, the Lakeland community is reaching out to help. The Nutrition Spot Lakeland at 2961 Canada Rd. has offered to be a drop off spot for donation items for the family. At least one of the family members in the house is a Lakeland Prep student. They are in need of clothing and shoes for three boys: Sizes youth small tops and bottoms, adult small shirts, youth XL pants; shoe sizes are 2 youth, 12 youth, and adult 8. Also, an 18 year old girl, size medium. Donations of gift cards will be used to purchase any items they need.
