Lakeland Chamber Update

Consider attending the Lakeland Chamber Luncheons on the fourth Wednesday of each month if you haven’t already. The Chamber has a record number of members at 174, and the luncheons are expanding and almost at capacity. The Lakeland students from the LPS Orchestra and LPS Band have also provided great entertainment lately. The Speakers and Sponsors have been booked for this year and already into next year. Additionally, plans for an ambassador program are in progress, and the annual golf tournament is in the early planning stages which is scheduled for October 3, 2023. Proceeds from the previous year’s golf tournament event benefited the LPS PTO, LPS Drama Club, LPS Baseball, LPS Soccer, LPS Track & Field, and LES Drama.

The Chamber has made significant civic contributions in the past, including funding half of the Lakeland sign at Fletcher Trace and Hwy 64. The Lion monument signs around town have become a measure of civic pride, and they helped produce a Lakeland video several years ago, as well as the Lakeland magazines, which have expanded and are an asset to market what Lakeland has going on. Many new businesses in the last 12 months have had ribbon cuttings around town and grand openings are a common occurrence now in Lakeland.
