First-ever Eighth Grade Formal was Saturday night

“Starry Night” was the theme of the first-ever LMPS Eighth Grade Formal Saturday night (5.11.18) at the IH Clubhouse in Lakeland.

Eighth-grade Parent Christye Gilliland coordinated the event which was sponsored by the LMPS PTO. She said all expenses were covered by fundraising of T-shirts and ticket sales.

“Parents helped with chaperoning and decorations on the day of the event for the 93 students,” said Mrs. Gilliland.

LMPS opened to students in grades 5-8 August 2017.  Lakeland Elementary School serves students in grades K-4 and Lakeland students attend Arlington High School though an interlocal agreement until a high school is built in Lakeland.

Mrs. Gilliland thanked Kim Odom, special events coordinator for the IH Center, for her “awesome help.”  She said Jamie Baker was the DJ and Photobling provided the photo booth.
