Statistics released today (7.9.20) for COVID-19 by the Shelby County Health Department (SCHD) include: 12,773 confirmed and probable cases (+306 newly confirmed today); 8,237 recovered (64.5%); 4,328 current (33.9%); and 208 deceased (1.6%). There have been 147,722 total tested in Shelby County, 93.3% negative, 6.7% positive.
The percent of overall testing positivity rate in Shelby is 8.6, the weekly rate is 12.4. Among nursing homes and facilities which serve vulnerable populations, there have been 69 deaths.
