Statistics released today (7.5.20) for COVID-19 by the Shelby County Health Department (SCHD) include: 11,829 confirmed and probable cases (+405 newly confirmed today): 7.442 recovered (62.9%); 4,189 current (35.4%); and 198 deceased, (1.7%). There have been 131,996 total tested in Shelby County, 92% negative, 8% positive. The percent of overall testing positivity rate in Shelby is 8.4.
Among nursing homes and facilities which serve vulnerable populations, the death toll remains at 66. There have been no deaths reported from the Shelby County Division of Corrections and one employee death at the Shelby County Jail/201 Poplar Ave.
