City of Lakeland Children’s Fishing Rodeo Set For May 22nd

Registration is open for the Annual City of Lakeland Children’s Fishing Rodeo.  The date is set for May 22nd, beginning promptly at 8:00am at the IH Park Lake located at 4523 Canada Road.  The event, for ages 4-12, is sponsored by the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency.

Kim Odom, Special Events Coordinator for the City of Lakeland said, “The rodeo includes seven, 15-minute sessions. There is one boy and one girl prize winner in every session. Other prizes will be awarded upon the discretion of the TWRA. Trophies will also be given out for the longest fish, most fish caught – boy, and most fish caught – girl.”

Participants MUST pre-register, bring their own poles and bait, and be accompanied by an adult.  Link to register is HERE.  Click on the Activities tab, then Community Events to reach the Fishing Rodeo option.
