The Lakeland Board of Commissioners (BOC) will have their regular business meeting this evening, June 9th at City Hall. The meeting is scheduled to start at 5:30pm.
Among the topics to be discussed and voted on this evening is the often-debated Ashmont development. The John Hyneman development has come before both the Municipal Planning Committee and the BOC multiple times over the last two years but has never received final approval. More about that history can be read here. Citizens have spoken out against the 99 acre development in the past but tonight the BOC will once again consider an outline plan which is located at Davies Plantation Road and Canada Road.
Other items on the agenda this evening include a preliminary plan for Glide Xpress car wash on Highway 64, more about that history can be read here as well as a variety of city business.
