Lakeland Preparatory School’s theatre program delivered standout performances this past weekend with its production of Anything Goes, marking a major milestone in the school’s first year as a complete high school.

Featuring a large and dynamic cast led by Zoey Yale as Reno Sweeney, the production also highlighted standout performances from Naima Harper Bey as Hope Harcourt, Jacob Mans as Billy Crocker, Alexander Garcia as Moonface Martin, Aaden Nichols as Lord Evelyn Oakleigh, and Carrington Criswell as Erma alongside strong supporting roles the cast brought energy, precision, and personality to a demanding musical, reflecting the rapid growth of the program.

Behind the scenes, students took ownership across every aspect of the production—from choreography and set design to lighting, sound, and stage management—demonstrating a level of commitment that continues to elevate Lakeland Prep’s arts culture. The scale and complexity of Anything Goes presented a significant challenge for a program still in its early stages. Yet Lakeland Prep students not only met that challenge—they exceeded expectations.

“This production is going to be one that I hold special for a long time,” LPS Theatre Company director Jeff White stated, “For us to be in our first year as a complete high school, and to face the challenge of Anything Goes, and then not only meet the challenge but excel in the execution of the production pays tribute to the passion and commitment our kids have for LPSTC and the arts.”

That passion was reflected in strong community support throughout the weekend, with average attendance of approximately 275 guests per show (Friday evening far exceeding at 343) across four performances. “We also saw that passion for the arts in the audiences over the weekend,” the director added. “It is truly awe inspiring.” As Lakeland Prep continues to grow, productions like Anything Goes are helping define its identity—one rooted in excellence, dedication, and a thriving appreciation for the arts.
