Monday (4.13.20) SCHD COVID-19 daily update – Death toll is holding at 26

Shelby County currently has 1269 confirmed COVID-19 cases. The total number of deaths in Shelby County attributed to COVID-19 is 26, according to Joan Carr, public information specialist for the Shelby County Health Department (SCHD).

Numbers of deaths reported by the SCHD has been steady at 26 since Saturday.  Thursday (4.9.20) the death total was 23, jumping to 25 on Friday and then 26 Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

The daily increase in reported Shelby County cases has continued to climb since Thursday, but the rate of increase has slowed the past four days: Thursday to Friday, 949 cases to 1,049, up by 100 cases; Friday to Saturday, 1,049 to 1,147, up by 98; Saturday to Sunday, 1,147 to 1,216, up by 69; and Sunday to today, 1,216 to 1,269, up by 53.
