As many well know, Lakeland is considered one of the hot, growing areas of Shelby County. With Lakeland’s first high school opening this August, as well as multiple new developments, both residential and commercial, that trend looks to continue for many years into the future. With growth comes the opportunity for jobs as Lakeland expands to meet the essential needs of residents.

According to Lakeland’s Interim City Manager, Michael Walker, there are a variety of needs he’s looking to fill for several critical positions at city hall. “The City has openings across multiple experience and educational levels, and residents will find that the City of Lakeland is not only the best place to live, but a great place to work and build a career,” he told Lakeland Currents. Mr. Walker said he would love to fill the open positions with Lakeland residents if possible. “We encourage all qualified Lakeland residents to apply for any of these part-time or full-time positions. We always love having co-workers who not only serve the City, but live in it, play in it, and call it home in all the ways that truly matter,” he said.
