White: Couleur du soir for PTA Auction & Dinner this month

It will be “Diner En Blanc” for guests at the 12th Annual LES (Lakeland Elementary School) PTA Auction Feb. 29th at Hillwood at Davies Manor in Bartlett.

Kembree Darakshani and Rebecca Cower are the co-chairs of the evening of dinner and live and silent auctions.

Mrs. Darakshani said the theme “Diner En Blanc” translates to eating dinner while wearing white.”

The Auction will be from 6-11 p.m. with tickets $30 per person.

Sponsorships are available through Friday (2.7.20) according to Mrs. Darakshani.  “New this year will be all sponsor logos on a standup banner in the front entrance of the school.”  Sponsor levels are Silver Paw $300, Gold Cub $600 and Platinum Lion at $1,200.

“We thank all of our current and past sponsors and are excited to currently have 13 Platinum Lion Sponsors,” said the co-chair.

The Auction promises to provide a fun environment to mix and mingle with other parents, teachers, faculty and local Lakeland residents, said Mrs. Darakshani, and raise money for the elementary school.

“We are very excited about the theme and cannot wait to see it all come together.  Our goals are to raise money to help pay for shade coverings for our playgrounds and for risers for the programs in the gymnasium. And as always our clubs and field trips, no child ever pays to attend a field trip.”

Dillard’s is the exclusive Lock Box sponsor, said Mrs. Darakshani.  “We will have Burberry, Ray Ban, Kendra Scott and Kelly Took brands represented in their wonderful sponsorship in our boxes. Buy a key and get a chance to win one of these items if your key works.”

Frost Bake Shop is donating cupcakes and will be a cake option in the Cake Live Auction which features 12 local cake artists. “We will have cakes in our live auction to win and share at your table,” said Mrs. Darakshani.  “This is always a fun time with Mrs. (Joretha) Lockhart (LES Principal) selecting her favorite.”

Draper’s Catering is providing dinner, said Mrs. Darakshani, “And we can’t wait to see their beautiful display and to dine on steak and potatoes, fig goat cheese, bacon bruschetta and shrimp scampi skewers. This is a little tease of the wonderful items we will offer on our amazing buffet.”

She is expecting 300 to attend the fundraising event.  For information on tickets or sponsorships, contact Mrs. Darakshani at kldarakshani@yahoo.com
