It is to be services as usual tomorrow (1.16.18) for Lakeland and Republic Services.
Jim Atkinson, city manager, reports:
“At this time (9 p.m. Monday night), Republic is planning to be open on Tuesday and running Lakeland trash routes. This week all collections are delayed one day due to the MLK holiday, so on Tuesday they will be collecting Monday routes. If they are unable to run due to the weather, they will let us know and we will help spread the word.”
He said City Hall will be open Tuesday.
However, the guest speaker scheduled Tuesday for the Lakeland Senior Center has been canceled.
“Over the last two days, city crews applied a liquid de-ice mixture on roads city-wide. This will help melt snow and ice that falls overnight. Crews are out again overnight applying sand and salt.”
