Nathan Daniel Bailey

Mr. Bailey, 22, was a full-time student at the University of Memphis. He was to receive his Bachelor’s degree in May 2020 in business management with a minor in supply chain management. He was a part-time worker at IKEA in the merchandise basics department. He was also a member of Bellevue Baptist Church where he had volunteered in the library since age 13 and was a dedicated member.

He is also survived by two brothers, Ross and Ryan Bailey; one sister, Anna Bailey; one sister-in-law, Hannah Bailey; and one nephew, Bryce Bailey.

From Wil Ashworth, president of the Lakeland Chamber, sent the following message to Chamber members:

It is with a heavy heart that I am passing this message along to you. As some of you may or may not know, Kevin’s son Nathan passed away on Sunday December 22, 2019 from a brain aneurysm. Kevin asked that I pass this information along. I am not aware of any needs they may have at this time. Please keep Kevin and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

From Brittney Buchanan, executive director of the Lakeland Commerce:

Kevin is a vital member of our Chamber board. He is such an activist for Lakeland, not just for businesses, but the schools and community as well. He supports so many community activities and is always coming up with ideas to create more involvement and support. He started the Clay Shoot Tournament a few years ago and it is growing into a very popular event. Fireworks City has been a Gold Sponsor for the golf tournament as long as I can remember. Fireworks City is also a LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School) Football Booster as well as so many other organizations. Fireworks City also donated a promethean board to LES a few years back. Whenever you mention Kevin’s name, everyone you meet knows him and knows what a sweet and generous man he is. We are truly blessed to have him as a Chamber Board member, a business owner in Lakeland and most importantly, a FRIEND!! We are very saddened by the loss of his son and we are going to keep his family in our prayers and support him as much as he has always supported us.
