Update for Saturday LAMP Concert – Festivities start at 6 p.m.

The final FREE LAMP concert Saturday (9.28.19) will begin at 6 p.m. to announce cheer and football teams from City leagues and Lakeland Middle Preparatory School (LMPS).

Kevin Rooney, director of the City Parks and Recreation Department, said seven groups will be introduced as part of the annual Homecoming at the final outdoor concert with first presentations beginning at 6 p.m.

The venue is the IH Park Amphitheater, 4523 Canada Road, with the concert running to 9:30 p.m.

Mr. Rooney said the order for Saturday night will be:

  • City Rec Cheer Teams
  • City Competitive Cheer Team
  • 5-6 Flag Football Teams
  • 7-9 Flag Football Teams
  • City Tackle Football Team
  • LMPS Cheer Team
  • LMPS Football Team

“We are going to start lining the kids up at 5:15 and start announcing them at 6 p.m.,” said Mr. Rooney.   The concert will start immediately after the festivities. Two food trucks will be available.”

Since large crowds are anticipated, Mr. Rooney recommends arriving early and carpooling.  “Once the parking lots are filled we cannot allow anyone else into the venue.”

There is a designated game area for children with inflatables, face painting and balloon magic with Mr. Mike the Balloon Man.

“Bring a blanket, chair and a cooler to hang out with friends and neighbors, as Lakeland brings a high level of live music and entertainment to The LAMP,” said Kim  Odom, special events coordinator for the City.
