The LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School) Choirs and LMPS Orchestra will perform in their spring concerts at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow (5.10.18).
A $5 donation is requested for each concert.
All LMPS Choirs — 5th Grade Mane Melody Singers, 6th Grade Choir, 7th and 8th Grade Concert Choir and Honor Choir — will perform in the Spring Choral Concert at St. Paul Methodist Church, 2949 Davies Plantation Road in Lakeland. Tonya Miller is the choir director.
The Orchestra program will be in the LMPS Cafetorium followed by a dessert reception of ice cream sundaes and other sweet treats. Orchestra director is Paula Turner. Performances will be by the Beginning Orchestra and Performing Orchestra.
Sunday (5.6.18) the LMPS Beginning and Concert Bands performed at The LAMP in IH Park. They premiered a new musical piece, “Garner Lake Portrait,” which was commissioned by the City of Lakeland to celebrate the history of the City.
This is the first year for spring musical concerts. The middle school opened to students, grades 5-8, in August 2017. Lakeland Elementary School serves grades K-4. Lakeland students go to Arlington High School through an interlocal agreement until a high school can be built in Lakeland.
