It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and two owners of a Lakeland business decided to give it a try.
The “it” is an opportunity to be on the TV Show Family Feud next season and the owners are Nancy and Jeff Rose of Orangetheory Fitness (OTF) in Corner Shops of Lakeland.
“We have never done anything like this before but we are a very close-knit family who love doing things together and are very competitive so we thought it would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and decided to go for it! We are so excited and beyond grateful that our family has been given this amazing opportunity and getting the opportunity to meet Steve Harvey is incredible,” said Mrs. Rose.
The audition was Jan. 27 in Little Rock. “We submitted an online application in December and were notified right after Christmas that we were selected from over 1,000 online applicants to attend the casting call in Little Rock.
“We arrived at the venue (The Marriott) and played a mock version of the game. We were then informed by one of the casting directors that they wanted us to meet with the producers that same day. After the one on one interviews we were told that if we were selected we would be notified within four to six weeks. They did emphasize that less than 10 percent of families who audition ever make it on the show.”
Mrs. Rose said the producers contacted her family last week and announced their family had been selected to film this summer. “We will be flown to Los Angeles in June or July and the show will air next season. We won’t know the actual “air” date until filming is completed.”
The show airs on Fox13, said Mrs. Rose, and reruns of the show are shown on GSN-Game Show Network.
“We have the opportunity to win $20,000 per game/show and a maximum of $100,000 and a brand new car.”
The Roses, Jeff and Nancy, live in Arlington as do their adult children, but their fitness business is in Lakeland. Mr. Rose served in the USMC in the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion-special forces. He is a disabled veteran after serving his country as a Marine Corps Officer. Mrs. Rose has been a personal trainer/group fitness instructor for 30+ years. OTF is a member of the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce.
Other family members appearing on the show are Josh Ambuehl, son-in-law, Kaitlyn Ambuehl, daughter and Kyle Rose, son.
“We decided to wear orange to represent our business and let our OTF members know that the Rose family will be representing our Orange family on the Family Feud. We are so grateful for the Orangetheory members and their support that we were excited to be able to do something that shows our appreciation for them and we hope to represent them well and make them proud.”
