Republic will pick up recycle today (4.1.19), according to Rhonda Fink, community services representative for the City of Lakeland.
“Our new service, Team Waste, has offered to help with recycle pick-up,” she said.
“I wish I could tell you when the carts will be picked-up. I know that they will be picked-up as soon as possible.
“I understand your frustration, better days are coming with our new service. Please bear with us as we try to remove Republic and unwanted City of Lakeland carts.”
The City is transitioning from service with Republic to Team Waste effective this week. Three new containers were to be delivered to all Lakeland addresses by the end of March, as old containers were emptied and removed.
Mrs. Fink said, “The new containers contain chips which allow identification of who has and has not been serviced on any particular day. It also helps identify who hasn’t moved their containers to the curb.”
