There will be a Town Hall meeting at 5 p.m. tomorrow (6.14.18) followed by the regular monthly meeting of the BOC (Board of Commissioners) at 5:30 p.m. Both will be at City Hall.

There will be a public hearing for the ordinance adopting the budget and tax rate for Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-19 taking effect July 1. The final reading on the budget and tax rate is on the regular agenda later in the evening.
If approved, the property tax rate would stay the same at $1.25.
On the regular agenda:
- A resolution adopting the personnel pay plan for FY 2018-19 including salaries for fire department staff who will start next summer when Lakeland begins its own Fire Department. Fire services are currently provided through the Shelby County Fire Department.
- First reading on an ordinance amending the City municipal code regarding prohibited conduct or activities by beer permit holders, employees and persons engaged in the sale of beer.
- Discussion on a transportation plan.
