Three candidates are vying for the position: Maurice Denbow, Billy Rodgers and Wesley Wright.

Voting started this morning (5.25.17) at three precincts in the area and runs through 7 p.m. tonight.
Locations for voting today as provided by the Shelby County Election Commission:
- Voters in ARL02-L will vote at First Baptist Church of Lakeland, 4500 Canada Road Lakeland (This is a change for this election only. Voters were mailed a notice. It affects 117 voters.)
- Voters in LAK01-L will vote at First Baptist Church of Lakeland, 4500 Canada Road Lakeland
- Voters in Lak02-L vote at Paul United Methodist Church, 2949 Davies Plantation Road Lakeland
- Voters in STE00-L vote at Oak Springs Baptist Church 10250 Godwin Road Arlington
