The code enforcement officer and municipal judge of Lakeland have turned in resignations, according to Shane Horn, Lakeland city manager.
John Highsmith, hired in December 2015 as Lakeland’s code enforcement officer, has accepted a new job and his last day will be Oct. 25th.
Taylor A. Cates, who became Lakeland’s first municipal judge in July 2018, will serve through the next Lakeland court date of Oct. 24th. He will take the position of Chief Prosecutor for Germantown, according to Mr. Horn.
A third position is open in Lakeland, that of finance director. The last day for Kyle Wright, who served as finance and human services director, was Sept. 18th. Mr. Wright joined the City in November 2018.
