This week – Concrete evidence of The Lake District development

The American flag at the Lake District is seen beyond the scaffolding and concrete foundations

Construction is moving from west to east on The Lake District as concrete pads have been poured for several businesses with more to come next week.

Yehuda Netanel, developer and owner of the mixed-use 161-acre development at I-40 and Canada Road in Lakeland, said there are concrete foundations for Osaka Japanese Restaurant, a liquor store, an unannounced retail establishment, Gloss Nail Bar and Hollywood Feed. Coming next week will be pads for The Stock Market (35,000-square foot anchor grocer) along with Frida’s Express and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Community Outreach Office.

Next year, this is to be the location of a liquor store at TLD

Scaffolding is in place for the concrete block walls on several of the pads with the recently placed American flag flying in the background.  “How vertical can we soar?” commented Mr. Netanel.

The Lake District is divided into two phases with phase 1 now underway. The project will include a mix of retail, local restaurants, hotels, entertainment, office space, wellness and residential. Once completed, The Lake District will be home to approximately 2,000 people. Phase 1 includes 103 townhouses as the demand for living in Lakeland has increased.  Phase 1 is to open in spring 2021.
