The Lake District Planning Multiple Holiday Events

Every building at The Lake District will be washed in a variety of colors from newly installed LED lighting for the Christmas season.

According to The Lake District developer, Yehuda Netanel, the shopping and restaurant destination located off Canada Road will be offering two holiday events this Christmas season and the public is invited. The events are meant to create a fun, festive season along with new colorful flood lights that can be seen on the buildings as well as a location where children can drop off a letter to Santa Claus. According to The Lake District’s social media pages every child that drops off a letter will receive a letter back from Santa Claus addressed from the North Pole. “We are turning ourselves into a holiday wonderland,” Mr. Netanel said.

The first public event, called “Light Up The District” will be held Saturday, December 2nd at 6:30pm. This is the second year for this event and once again the public is invited to bring an ornament of their choosing and it will be placed on the 35-foot Christmas tree in front of Gloss Nail Bar. “We will also be serving free hot chocolate and holiday cookies from Frost Bake Shop and then lighting the tree for the season at 6:30pm sharp,” Mr. Netanel said. The tree will remain lit and decorated through the holiday season and anyone that places an ornament on the tree can pick up the ornament, should they choose, after Christmas is over.

The second public event, called “The Holidays Classic Car Show” is in partnership with The Classic Car Club of Memphis. That event will be held on Saturday, December 9th from 11am – 3pm. Mr. Netanel says a a classic fire truck, fully decorated for Christmas, will be on site that day. The Lake District will also be giving out awards for cars that have the best Holiday decorations. Awards include gift certificates to Villa Castrioti, Portales Mexican Restaurant, Frost Bake Shop and more.

All events are free to the public. For more information, please go to: https://www.thelakedistrict.us/two-free-holiday-events-here-at-the-lake-district/
