The Lake District – Phase Two Interest Meeting

Despite the rainy weather, it was a beautiful day for The Lake District. The mixed-use community at 1-40 and Canada Road in Lakeland is set to open phase one for the Holiday 2020 season. Tenants and customers alike are looking forward to that day.

“We are bringing the best of Memphis to one area.” Said Maggie Gallagher, Gilad’s Development Director.

An event at the Capital Grille on Thirsday affirmed that interest. It was well attended and commitment to the development was significant.  “We had a very large crowd this morning and expect more this afternoon.” said Gallagher, midway through the event.

There were phase one tenants present on site in addition to potential phase two attendees. Announced for phase one retail: Phillip Ashley Chocolates, Frida’s Restaurante Mexicano, Osaka Japanese Cuisine, Memphis BBQ Co. , Brickhouse Fitness, Elite Total Health, Starbucks, Malco Theatres, Gould’s Salon and Spa, Gloss Nail Bar, The Stock Market and Hollywood Feed.

Several of those tenants were in attendance yesterday, including team members of Brick House Fitness, Phillip Ashley of Phillip Ashley Chocolates and representatives from the The Stock Market. Phillip Ashley provided personalized chocolates designed specifically for the occasion. The chocolates and other TLD branded items were given in gift bags to event guests.

Developer Yehuda Netanel is positive about the event and progress despite the rain. “Every day it rains it is a significant expense. Oh well, we move on.”

The rain won’t put a damper on the overall project. “We are excited, our tenants are excited. It is a good day.” Said Yehuda of the project and the phase two event.
