Tennessee franchise and excise tax deadline extended by Governor

The filing deadline for franchise and excise taxes has been extended to July 15, 2020 by Gov. Bill Lee. This aligns with the new federal tax deadline for COVID-19 relief.

Taxpayers will have until July 15 to file returns and make any payments, including quarterly estimated payments, originally due in April.

State Rep. Tom Leatherwood (R – District 99) said this is great news for small business owners across Tennessee who face uncertainly because of the COVID-19 virus.
