A suspect in a Halloween shooting in Eads Halloween morning was apprehended in Lakeland Friday and had a video arraignment this morning (11.4.19) in Shelby County Criminal Court.
The affidavit of complaint confirmed deputies found Kyle D. Walton Nov. 1st at the Relax Inn, 3645 Canada Rd. Mr. Walton, age 30 with a last known address of Oakland, TN, was taken to Shelby County Criminal Justice Center where he waived his rights, acknowledged his role in the Halloween complaint and was charged. His court hearing was this morning.
The other suspect in the shooting on Reed Hooker Cove was apprehended the day of the incident.
“SCSO detectives have arrested both suspects in connection with the Reid Hooker Cove shooting and auto burglary investigation. Timothy Keen was arrested Thursday and Kyle Walton was arrested today (11.1.19) by detectives. They are both charged with felony crimes,” according to SCSO.
SCSO records show Mr. Walton was charged with burglary of a motor vehicle and theft of property $1,000 or less.
The incident happened early Halloween morning in the 1600 block of Reed Hooker Cove when a homeowner noticed activity around his vehicle in his driveway. SCSO believes two men were burglarizing the homeowner’s vehicle when confronted by the homeowner. The suspects were driving a Honda Accord which had been stolen.
Gunfire was exchanged between the homeowner and the suspects. The first suspect, Mr. Keen, was found with multiple gunshot wounds by deputies and taken to Regional One Health in Memphis. The homeowner was not injured, according to SCSO.
