After a sale on the Shelby County courthouse steps yesterday (2.14.19), the Stonebridge Golf Club will “stay the course,” according to Owner Mark Lovell.

Mr. Lovell said this morning he believes he was the only bidder on the property at 3049 Davies Plantation.  His bid paid off a loan to the Bank of Bartlett which he said, “Was a smidge over $1 million.”

He will retain the current employees at the Club, he said.  He also has some changes coming to the venue but said he was not ready to make announcements yet.

Neighbors around the course were concerned the property would be sold and changed to apartments.  Mr. Lovell said last month that would not happen.

The property was owned by Golf National LLC with Mr.  Lovell and his brother-in-law, Robert Mears.

The Club was built in 1973 and purchased in April 2013 for $1.5 million from Textron Financial by Golf Nation, LLC.
