The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) advised tonight (2.20.19) that Stewart Road between Old Brunswick and Brunswick Roads is closed in both directions due to flooding.
It is to remain closed for the remainder of the evening. Motorists are advised to heed warning signs and not drive around barricades.
On Monday, the Emergency Management and Homeland Security Office with Shelby County Government issued an alert for excessive rain and possible flash flooding.
The first round was to last through Saturday with four to eight inches of rain possible. The second round will be widespread lowland flooding with street flooding in poor drainage in urban areas.
